Privacy Policy

This policy explains what LooksGold (http://localhost:3000) collects, what our Pinterest publishing app accesses, and how affiliate links work. We keep it plain and short.

What we collect on this site

The site itself stores no personal data on our servers. It is fully static.

• Cookie consent choice. When you accept or reject analytics cookies, we store that choice in your browser's localStorage under the key cookie-consent. Nothing is sent to us.
• Analytics (consent-gated). Only after you accept cookies do we load Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel, which set their own cookies to measure page views and traffic sources. Reject, and neither loads.
• Server logs. Our host (Cloudflare) processes standard request logs for security and performance. We do not use them to profile you.

Affiliate disclosure

Some links in our articles are affiliate links. If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We participate in:

• the Amazon Associates program (Amazon.de links tagged with our Associate ID), and
• the Etsy Affiliate Program via Rakuten Advertising (links routed through linksynergy.com).

Those networks receive your click data (timestamp, referring page, target product) under their own privacy policies. We never receive your name, email, or payment details.

Pinterest publishing app ("looksgold-blog")

We operate a private Pinterest API app that publishes pins linking to our own articles from our own account (LooksGold on Pinterest).

• What it accesses: our account's boards and pins (read), and permission to create new boards and pins (write) on our own account only.
• What it does: creates one pin per published article, with the article's cover image, title, description, and a link back to this site.
• What it does not do: it never accesses your Pinterest account, never reads your boards or pins, and never sends your data anywhere. There is no user-facing login, only we authenticate, with our own credentials.
• Data storage: the app's access token is stored privately and never shared. We keep no copies of Pinterest user data, because none is collected.

Third-party services

• Cloudflare, hosting and CDN (request logs, DDoS protection).
• Google Analytics, traffic measurement, consent-gated.
• Meta Pixel, ad attribution, consent-gated.
• Amazon Associates / Rakuten Advertising, affiliate click tracking on their links.
• Pinterest, pin creation via its API for our own account.

Your rights

You can withdraw cookie consent any time by clearing your browser's localStorage for this site. To opt out of analytics entirely, reject the banner or use your browser's Do Not Track setting. For questions about your data, email us.
